What container-direct means at Coast Master Imports
Container-direct is exactly what it sounds like — a buyer receives a full reefer container direct from origin without sub-loading or commingling in transit. We arrange production at origin packhouses, ocean freight under reefer control, customs clearance at the Port of Miami, and outbound delivery to your DC or inland point.
- FCL only — no LCL co-loading on these programs
- Reefer-controlled origin to final delivery
- PACA-licensed, FSMA-compliant cold chain
- Single point of contact for the whole lane
Who runs container programs with us
Large distributors, supermarket chain produce departments, foodservice broadliners, and exporters consolidating out of Miami. Container-direct works best for buyers pulling at least one full FCL per week per SKU.
Origin and lane coverage
Active FCL lanes from Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, and Jamaica. Outbound coverage to any U.S. inland point.
Frequently asked questions
Can Coast Master Imports handle container-direct programs?
Yes. FCL container-direct programs through the Port of Miami are a core part of our business across the tropical produce category.
What is the minimum for an FCL container program?
One full reefer container per pull. Many of our buyers run one or more containers per week per SKU.
Do you handle customs clearance?
Yes. We manage customs clearance and FDA documentation at the Port of Miami so the buyer doesn't need to act as importer of record.
Can I be importer of record on my own containers?
Yes. We can structure programs either way — as buyer-of-record or with the customer as IOR. Tell us your preference up front.
Which SKUs work as container-direct?
Plantains, green bananas, yuca, malanga, limes, ginger, calabaza, coconuts, and seasonal mangoes are our most common FCL lanes.
Do you offer mixed-SKU containers?
Yes, in some lanes. Mixed FCLs require careful packout planning at origin — we'll tell you up front if a spec works.
How long does an FCL transit take?
Most Latin American lanes into Miami run 5–10 days at sea, plus clearance and outbound transit. We quote door-to-door transit times on every program.
How do I set up an FCL program?
Call 786 499 8798, email coastmasterimports@gmail.com, or submit the homepage quote form. We'll scope spec, volume, and lane in a single intake call.
